7/1000 Things I Learned Working 26 Years at the Same Company by Tarsha Njembelle

Today I make 26 years with my company. This means a lot to me because only God sustained me and saw me through it all. He shaped me and trained me at work in ways no other place could. He continues to bless me all these years later. I’m grateful for my career and time with the company.
A young lady once told me, I don’t want to work at a company that long. 😳 My response was, neither did I.
To all the young 20 something people out there who are choosing to live their lives for God and plan to make great exploits in there journey, I have a message for you. Sometimes God tells people to stay in a certain place, as he did with me. I tried everything I could to leave and my early years but the Lord said no. It has never been easy and I’ve cried and hurt many times over this assignment. However the blessing of the Lord in obedience far outweighed any pain. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Here are some things I learned along the way.

  1. HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT
  2. We cannot afford to be anywhere other than where God wants us to be
  3. Don’t judge anyone’s walk. The very thing you deem an error could be the place God is requiring them to be
  4. Everyone isn’t called to entrepreneurship right away. Entrepreneurship is a God thing but in His time
  5. Sometimes people being unable to work at places for long periods of time has more to do with character than “a calling”
  6. Working people matter to the Kingdom of God for many reasons. Usually they are the ones, for those who don’t work traditional job come to first for help 😂 (this is a whole teaching)
  7. There is no shame in “punching a clock”. People have said that phrase with such nastiness, dismissiveness and disdain. The truth is to exchange effort for income is something g we all have to do. It may not look the same for everyone but those “clock punchers” eat, feed there families, pay taxes and give to those in need. That is honorable!
